Apple’s new products are mind-blowing!

On Tuesday, Apple announced new iPad Pros, a completely redesigned regular iPad, and an updated Apple TV 4K.

Apple will have more new devices to sell before the busy holiday shopping season. Apple’s iPad sales fell by 14% during the last holiday quarter and by 2% during the most recent quarter. The new tablets may help the company boost those sales. And they join Apple’s new iPhone 14, two new Apple Watches, and brand-new AirPods Pro.

Here are the new things.

A redesigned iPad

The home button at the bottom of the screen is gone, and a fingerprint reader has been added to the power button. It looks more squared, like the iPad Air and iPad Pro. It has a large 10.9-inch screen and a USB-C connector instead of a Lightning one. It will come in different colours, like red, yellow, blue, and white.

Apple also showed off a new case for the iPad called the Magic Keyboard Folio. It costs $249 and has a kickstand, a multitouch trackpad, and a magnetic connector that automatically charges the iPad. But there’s something odd about the way the Apple Pencil works.

The better second-generation Apple Pencil, which charges on the side of the iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad Pro, doesn’t work with the new iPad. Since the new iPad has a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port, which was used to charge the Apple Pencil on older models, you’ll need to buy a $9 USB-C to Lightning adapter to charge the Apple Pencil.

Apple will sell different versions, like Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + 5G cellular, but the price starts at $449, which is more than the $9th-generation iPad’s starting price of $329. It can be ordered starting Tuesday, and stores will start selling it on October 26.

As in the past few years, the iPad Pro will come in two sizes: 11 inches and 12.9 inches with a better screen.

The biggest change to the iPad Pro is a new M2 processor. This is the same processor that came out this year with the MacBook Air. Apple said that it is up to 15% faster than the M1 processor in the last iPad Pro model, which came out in 2021.

On the new iPad Pros, the Apple Pencil also works a little differently. The screen can now see the tip of the Pencil up to 12 mm above the surface of the screen. Apple says this will help artists draw more accurately and make the process of turning handwriting into text faster.

The iPad Pro with an 11-inch screen starts at $799, and the one with a 12.9-inch screen starts at $1,099. You can start to order them on Tuesday, and they’ll be in stores on October 26.

Apple TV 4K 2022

The Apple TV 4K has a faster processor and comes in two versions: a Wi-Fi-only model with 64GB of storage and a Wi-Fi + Ethernet model with twice as much storage and a wired internet connection.

The streaming box now supports HDR10+, which is another high-dynamic range standard. If the TV it is connected to supports HDR10+, the picture quality should be better, especially in dark scenes. Apple says that the new processor is 50% faster than the old one, so things like loading apps and games should go faster.

The new Apple TV 4K comes with an updated Siri Remote that can be charged with a standard USB-C cable. This cable is also used to charge iPads and other devices that aren’t made by Apple. Apple’s Lightning connector was once used to connect the remote.

Starting on Tuesday, you can place an order for the new Apple TV 4K, which starts at $129. It goes on sale Nov. 4.
